Mene, mene, tekel, upharsin

Boney wasn't exactly a flop, but he didn't generate much dramatic tension. Bernadette and her friend cheesed him in the suggested fashion, and he fell without much incident. All in all, probably the best result possible. Who wants an epic battle anyway? A victory will do just fine.

Suboptimal targeting

Wrong target! smashing workbenches rather than players.

The parkour preparations were of minor importance. There wasn't much in the way of manoeuvre for their carefully laid obstacles to get in the way of. Bernadette tossed the bones into the green glowing mouth, while her friend perched on top of the skull. The battle only lasted about six minutes. Bernadette's friend drew most of the aggro for the first part of the fight, until Bonemass demolished the structure that she was standing on and she had to jump down. While this was happening, Bernadette was shooting Bonemass in the back; both archers were using frost arrows and Bonemass's health drained away quickly. He did break away and attacked some of the workbenches further from the spawn point, an entirely useless move that wasted most of his remaining health, and finally turned back to chasing his two attackers before collapsing from one final arrow from Bernadette's friend. The long-absent Hugin popped in to tell us about the Wishbone and how to use it, and then we went to the trophy circle and claimed Bonemass's Forsaken power, a strong buff against physical damage for five minutes.

No drama, just results. It made all the preparation seem somewhat overdone, but good preparation always gives the appearance of being overdone by ensuring mastery of the situation without obvious effort. Your reward for careful planning and meticulous preparation is that in the end, it looks easy.

Bernadette tried out the Wishbone right afterwards, back in the swamp next to Overwatch. It quickly found two Muddy Scrap Piles buried without visible trace on the edge of the swamp, and although not all the scrap could be mined due to deep water, ten pieces of iron were recovered. The only problem is that the Wishbone is noisy, and it attracts enemies as well as detecting treasure. Bernadette's obsessive fencing of areas is going to be a big help there.

Now you tell me.

Now you tell me?

With Bonemass gone, many things will have changed. Random attacks will be both more frequent and deadlier. But there will be more iron, and for the first time, silver. The job is done. RIP, reducto in pulvis, rest in pieces, you fat green slob.

Note: The Comfort level of the base beside Bonemass's spawn went to 17 when Bernadette's friend arrived. It appears that a bed has to be claimed before its contribution to the Comfort level is calculated. The 2 Comfort points for the Dragon Bed were not being overwritten by the 1 point for the ordinary bed; they were simply not being recognized before the Dragon Bed was claimed by Bernadette's friend (like Shakespeare's wife, Bernadette gets the second-best bed).
