Beech Trees

Trees are the primary source of wood. When destroyed, a full-grown tree will become a giant log that will fall over and collide with any objects in their path. Logs drop various types of wood, depending on the kind of tree. Stumps always drop ordinary wood.

Growing behaviour[]

Cut forests do not regrow, and the small trees (large saplings labelled Beech, Fir, or Pine) do not grow into full sized trees. Some have reported trees spontaneously appearing in rare occasions, but this will not replace a cut forest (and is quite rare).

It is however possible to plant tree saplings using the Cultivator and seeds from some tree species. Planted saplings grow into large trees over time. A sapling will grow into a tree after a random passage of time, between 3000s and 5000s (between 50m and 83m20s, or about 1.67-2.78 in-game days). For tree farms, it is recommended that you plant each sapling 4 meters apart in order to avoid overcrowding, which will eliminate some saplings as surrounding trees mature. Spacing can be measured by placing poles along one edge of the farm for reference, with the spacing measured by temporarily placing two 2 meter beams.

Ancient trees and Yggdrasil shoots do not produce seeds and cannot be planted with the cultivator.
