Seeker soldiers are aggressive creatures found in the Mistlands and in infested mines.
Seekers soldiers are large, highly durable insect-like creatures with traits similar to beetles, ants, and bees. While ordinary Seekers resemble ants, Soldiers bear a resemblance to stag beetles, with powerful mandibles and a rounded, armored carapace. Unlike ordinary Seekers, Soldiers do not have wings.

Attacks and abilities[]
- Seeker soldiers will perform two basic attacks, then followed up with a double claw slam as their third attack, then repeats the process. They may occasionally taunt a few minutes later.
- Parrying is the most common strategy in the game for dealing with difficult enemies, since a parried creature takes double damage. Parrying and riposting the Seeker soldier is an effective, but slow means to destroy it. Without parrying, it is extremely difficult to stagger a seeker soldier because of its resistance to most physical weapon damage. If you're playing with others, one person parrying it can allow others to effectively focus on its weak spot.
- Seeker soldiers have a weak spot on their abdomen - their rear end, in other words. Try to be nearly directly behind the soldier when attacking - their rear legs can "block" your attack from dealing extra damage. Put your back to a wall to minimize knockback, parry the soldier's attack, and leap over or around it to deal extra damage to it.
- Since soldiers are resistant to Pierce, elemental arrows are more effective against them. If you spot a soldier before alerting it, sniping its weak spot - the pink spot underneath the abdominal armor - will deal extra damage on top of the sneak attack bonus, starting off your fight in a strong position.
- Frostner and Mistwalker are effective because their frost effect slows it down (Frostner actually does more damage than Porcupine).
- Soldiers are very tough, but terrible at terrain traversal. If you have any ranged weapons, they can be taken down easily by simply putting some elevation between yourself and the Soldier. The arbalest can easily deal ~200 damage per shot with carapace bolts if hitting the abdomen.

Notes[]
Seeker soldiers are capable of breaking various resources that would otherwise require a blackmetal tool for the player to break, including black marble deposits, Yggdrasil shoots, and ancient swords and armor. Both their tackle and slam attacks have this property, but not their bite attack. This means that it is theoretically possible for the player to obtain large quantities of both black marble and Yggdrasil wood without blackmetal, and it is possible to get much larger quantities of scrap iron outside of sunken crypts than other methods.
