Fine Wood is a crafting resource obtained by chopping down Birch and Oak trees in Meadows. Unlike Beech and Fir trees, Birch trees require a Bronze Axe to chop which is not available to players until after beating Eikthyr and crafting the Antler pickaxe.

Fine wood can also be achieved from ship wrecks around the coast of the Black Forest biomes without the need for a bronze axe. You may also roll logs into Birch or Oak trees to damage them, a slow yet consistent source of Fine Wood before access to a bronze axe.
