Beds are base structures used for sleeping and setting the player's respawn point.

Sleeping[]

It is possible to sleep in a bed after a player has claimed one. Sleeping skips the game clock to the next morning. The game will progress in fast-forward while the player sleeps, meaning that crafting stations that process materials will continue working. This can make sleeping advantageous if the player is attempting to refine a large volume of materials quickly.

It is only possible to sleep if:

  1. It is afternoon or night.
  2. There are no enemies nearby.
  3. The bed has a roof and 80% cover.
  4. There is a fire nearby.
  5. The player is not wet.

There is a 10% chance for the player to dream while sleeping on a bed.

Notes[]

A bed can be claimed when it has a roof and 80% cover. Press [E] while looking directly at a bed to claim it.

The most recent bed claimed by a player will serve as their respawn point. This can be used strategically by building small outposts outside of dungeons or other dangerous areas and placing a bed inside, allowing the player to quickly return and reattempt the area.

Once a bed has been claimed by a player, other players cannot override their claim unless the bed is destroyed and re-placed.

If your bed (spawn point) is destroyed and you die, you will respawn at the starting location.

A Bed will increase the Comfort level by 1.

If a player sleeps in a bed that is very close to a roof, it is possible to wake up on the other side of the roof.
