Dvergr Guard Towers are one of the more common types of Dvergr structures located throughout the Mistlands. A tower made mostly of Black marble, it is one type of Dvergr structure and is home to Dvergr rogues and mages. Each inhabited Dvergr Guard Tower contains a Dvergr component crate, an important crafting component for progression.

Ruined Dvergr Guard Towers are variants of Dvergr Guard Tower which have fallen into ruin and become inhabited by Seekers instead of the Dvergr.

Location[]

Dvergr Guard Towers are found in the Mistlands.

Description[]

Dvergr Guard Towers are buildings made mostly of Black marble with Dvergr-style Wood and Copper supports and adornments. Most variants, inhabited or ruined, are surrounded by at least some Dvergr sharp stakes. All variants (usually including ruined ones) have at least some Blue jute hangings around their outer walls (though inhabited ones have more).

The Dvergr Guard Tower can be easily distinguished from the similar Dvergr Lighthouse by the lack of a large, blue, mist-dispelling light inside its second floor. One of the variants of Infested Mine has an entrance building similar in appearance to the single-story Dvergr Guard Tower buildings, especially inhabited variant #3 (see below), but can be distinguished by the following differences:

  • The Infested Mine lacks the blue lamppost on its roof usually found on the latter (though it will often have a blue lamppost on the ground near the entrance);
  • The Infested Mine has no blue jute hangings at all;
  • The Infested Mine is inhabited by Seekers, yet is mostly structurally intact;
  • And the Infested Mine has a central pillar and a central spiral staircase, both made of black marble, leading down to the dungeon entrance.

Inhabited variants[]

The inhabited variants have a Dvergr door at their entrance, one or more blue mist-dispelling lights around their exteriors, Dvergr lanterns hanging on walls or laying on surfaces (where they can be picked up), and various kinds of Dvergr furniture, including exactly one Dvergr component crate each. Inhabited variant #1 has a 10% chance of spawning with a Dvergr tankard on a table.

There are three variants of inhabited Dvergr Guard Tower:

  1. The first is the tallest: A Black marble tower with two full-sized stories, a Dvergr wooden spiral staircase running up through the structure from ground floor to roof, with the exteriors of both stories adorned with Blue jute curtains and drapes.
  2. The second has only one story, but also has a Dvergr spiral staircase running up to the roof on the inside.
  3. The third variant also has a single story, but no roof access. Instead, a wooden staircase descending along the inside of the structure walls leads to an earthen-floored basement.

Ruined variants[]

The ruined variants are often home to groups of Seekers, entirely lacking any Dvergr or their furniture.

There are three variants of Ruined Dvergr Guard Tower:

  1. The first is a ruined variant of Dvergr Guard Tower #1, with the second story and spiral staircase present but damaged, and large portions of its walls missing (especially of the upper story). Sometimes the wood roof may be present, with the staircase extending all the way up to it; other times, the roof is absent, and the staircase barely rises above the second floor.
  2. The second is also based on Dvergr Guard Tower #1, but where the structure has been hollowed out - while the walls (and floor) of the second story are just barely still present, the spiral staircase is gone. In its place is a large Yggdrasil shoot, growing out of a hole in the middle of the floor.
  3. The third variant is similar to Dvergr Guard Tower #3, but with its roof completely destroyed and chunks missing from its walls, floor, and staircase. Its basement is devoid of furnishings, instead possibly containing a few small Yggdrasil shoots and possibly several Seekers.
